What does a Coach do?

Coaching is most often done over the telephone, which allows the client’s time and energy to be used most effectively. It can also be done in person if circumstances permit it.    Typically, a coach will use some or all of the following methods:

  • Asking good questions
  • Drawing distinctions
  • Offering perspective
  • Expecting the client’s best
  • Goal setting and accountability, if desired
  • Listening intently
  • Teaching principles
  • Providing structure
  • Being unconditionally constructive
